The Smart Tag's Design Origin Story
Have you ever wondered about the origin of the Smart Tag? This small, unassuming object has become a ubiquitous part of our daily lives, but where did it come from?
Believe it or not, the concept for the Smart Tag was first conceived in March 2012. The aim was to create an object that was visually appealing yet unobtrusive, something that wouldn't draw too much attention but would still be noticeable when needed.
The design itself is simple yet effective. It consists of two small circles, one on the top and one on the bottom. One is solid and the other is an outline. These circles represent two significant ideas. The solid circle symbolizes the future of digital inspections, where everything is digitized, and nothing is missed. The outline circle symbolizes covering the tag entirely when tapped, ensuring the tag is fully energized.
Over time, the colours and font of the tag may have changed, but the circles remain a constant design component.
How will this design stand the test of time?
Only time will tell.
One thing is for sure, though, the Smart Tag has already become an essential part of our modern world, and it looks set to remain so for many years to come.
